This work aims at constructing an industrial FDI attractiveness score. It was illustrated by considering the case of the Agri-Food Industries present in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries (SEMCs). The multiplication of attractiveness scores and indicators reduces the visibility/credibility of public policies. Furthermore, the agri-food industry and food products have several specificities in terms of multinational companies’ strategies and types of FDI. Scores concerning the agri-food industry present strong similarities with global attractiveness scores and only slightly characterize this industry. Because this attempt at a score industrial construction has many constraints related to the data used and to the mode of calculation, its results should not put under discussion the need to take into account the industrial specificities.
